Even though I dropped off the radar on LJ, i've still been on the internet. I use FB mostly for the networking aspect--Events, really. The Groups function is pretty great for sharing too--I created a group 'The Loving Tender Fistfuck' to share music w/ a dozen or so friends. But I don't really use the Status Update function for some reason, I ocassionally get the feeling that I should use it more often, but i'm lazy, and I would feel like i'm trying too hard. I also have this general distaste for the twitterisation of thoughts and ideas. Or it's just youthful anti-conformity, whatevs.
Aside: I should mention at this point that one of the rules of this journal (since obvs. journals are a great way of tracking how you change [thanks JD] over time) is that it is very much a journal. Not for writing, fiction, flowery prosey kinda crap, just pure unadulterated thoughts, maybe some reviews and the other occasional refined idea.
So yeah. FB is too revealing (family and all that jazz, y'know?),
Tumblr in general is just a terrible medium, but I kinda enjoy it (it has a good book community, but i've never really got the picture blogging thing. not to my tastes.) and have an account to scrapbook the odd quote or two. But i'm an insane marginalia-underliner freak so it isn't really an accurate 'Scrapbook' per se. In other words, I don't update.
Goodreads is pretty awesome for keeping track of books (so add me!) but doesn't really get much use otherwise. Seeing a trend here?n Yeah. But there is one big one which I do participate in regularly:
reddit! I moderate r/bookclub, i actually post/discuss things. It's about the only place I regularly check on the internets.
[insert something witty and self-deprecatory here as conclusion]
