So, for those of you that don't know Sunday was the nationally celebrated 420. This year Randy, Jeff, Monica, Mike, Shawn, Amanda, Sarah, Brandyce, Darcy, Lacy, Kelly (Brandyce's boyfriend) 2 friends of theirs and myself all drove up to Golden Gate Park in San Francisco to smoke on Hippy Hill with about 2 thousand other people. It was absolutely AMAZING!!!! Jeff, Monica, Randy, The Jews and their girlfriends all left at 9 so that we could walk Haight and shop a bit before 420. We got there at 11 and walked about 15 blocks down Haight and stopped in everysmoke shop and novelty shop on the street. It was insanely relaxing being able to walk down the street and smoke a blunt without having to worry about being hassled by the cops. I was truly in my element. Haight and Ashbury, my oh my what a sight. Walking down the same streets Jimi (hendrix), Janis (joplin), Bob (dylan), Charlie (manson), Abbie (hoffman), and many more of my heroes walked down 30-40 years ago was mind blowing. oh, I was so happy. It was amazing. We all walked back to the cars so everyone could drop off whatever they bought and Monica, Sarah (mike's girl), I walked back to the park in order to be there by 4:20 while the others (except for Brandyce, Darcy, Lacy,Kelly, and the others because they weren't even in s.f. yet) walked with mike to the cannibus club, but left him there because they wanted to make sure they made it to where we were in time.

The three of us got to the hill at 3:45 and walked all the way to the top where Sarah's friend (holland a.k.a "vaudi") was already waiting with a group of her friends. We had smoked a lot already but us girls smoked a bowl while we waited for the guys. Randy, Jeff, and Shawn got there at like 4:10 and rushed to roll a couple blunts before the time came. They succeeded and Mike came running up the hill at 4:19 with baked goods from the club and then it struck. It was 4:20. A mushroom cloud of smoke went up in the air and people yelled and cheered and hollered and smoked and smoked and smoked. It was really magical.

It was like Woodstock without the live music. SO many people gathering together for one thing. Even though it was just to get stoned, we all came together and nobody fought and everyone was friendly. There were even people walking around giving free hugs. Strangers wandered into the circle, smoked with us, talked with us, and left. It was the most amazing experience and I'm going back next year, and the year after that, and the year after that, until I'm too dead to go.
