"Hybrid Moments"- by The Misfits
If you’re gonna scream, scream with me
Moments like this never last
When do creatures rape your face
Hybrids opened up the door
Ooh baby when you cry
Your face is momentary
You hide your looks behind these scars
In hybrid moments
Give me a moment
Give me a moment
Give me a moment
Ooh baby when you cry
Your face is momentary
You hide your looks behind these scars
In hybrid moments
In hybrid moments
In hybrid moments
In hybrid moments
Give me a moment
Give me a moment
Good song by a good band.
So last Saturday was the Battle For The Cans, and Hampton Ponds Association, Inc. in Westfield. It was an AWESOME night. The best thing I could've done for my Eagle Project. I loved it so much.
So me, Sam, Mike, and Mike Bettancourt arrived at the hall at around 2:30 to start setting up. We didn't have a good PA, so we the guys in Beretta let us use theirs the whole night.
First up was No Pants Slamdance from New Hampshire. They were good, although I felt a little bad because they had to play first. The drove 3 hours to play! I was like "Holy shit." They were good. They wrote a song called "Hermione Granger." Guess what it's about. www.myspace.com/nopantsslamdance
After them came Nevermind, Kyle Bell's band. They kicked a lot of ass, especially with their ska-song "Avalanche." Kyle's a good kid. The rest of the guys in his band seem pretty cool, too. Thye support us, so we, as a band, support them. www.myspace.com/thebandneverind
Threefold Law came after Nevermind. That's my little bro's band. To be honest, they're OK in my opinion, I'm glad Frank found a band he likes. They aren't my type of music, but they were good. www.myspace.com/threefoldlaw
The Strikeouts were one of my favortie bands of the night. They're from Palmer, and they play like fast and melodic punk-rock. I like them alot. The guys in it are cool, too. They're stuff is awesome to dance to. Unfortunately, I didn't watch their whole set...I was getting a headache at this point. www.myspace.com/thestrikeouts
Next came the highlight of the night for a lot of people, including me: The Positive Downside. They're a ska band from Connecticut, and they totally KICK ASS. AND I MEAN KICK ASS. I am in love with their song "State Of Mine." It's so catchy...there were so many people skanking. It was awesome for us, and them , I think. It's about time some Western Mass kids realized what SKA is. www.myspace.com/thepositivedownside
NEXT UP: the best band of the night, of course. THE WORST 4 YEARS, baby! We totally kicked ass (so I hear.) It was the largest crowd we've played in front of so far (check out our pics at www.myspace.com/theworst4years ) Even though we messed up once or twice, we nailed it, I think. The crowd LOVED "There Is", "Last Caress," and "Saturday Night." They also went crazy to our stuff, of course. It was so much fun.
The next 2 bands were good, too. I'm just too tired to writer too much about it all. Beretta kicked ass, and so did Sometime Next Week.
Friday was the infamous Sadie Hawkins dance. Itr was wonderful. Absolutely wonderful. Marie not only looked awesome, but was an excellent date. I had loads of fun. The only thing about it, though, is that Kristie was ALWAYS monitoring where my hands were, and I lost my boutineer as we were leaving :(
Had Powder Keg training on Saturday and this morning. I'm tired as hell. Not feeling too great, either.
Damn daylight savings.
