"Death Bed" by Alkaline Trio

Calling all cars or coroners, we got a dead one here
And anybody else receiving this, the west coast is far from clear
Like a time bomb, a sudden death
It's gonna find you when you least expect
It's gonna leave you the emptiest feeling inside

They found me face down in the street
On the night you left to find, another place to sleep
In rain and regret
They said they tried everything but it was no use
Yeah, they tried everything and everyone but you

Falling like stars into the ocean black, we're gonna disappear
And anything left recognizable is swept away with fear
We got our heart stripped in time release
We got the know-how and the elbow grease
We got our victim all cut up down here on the floor

They found me face down in the street
On the night you left to find, another place to sleep
In rain and regret
They said they tried everything but it was no use
Yeah, they tried everything and everyone but you

...One but you
...One but you

They found me face down in the street
On the night you left to find, another place to sleep
In rain and regret
They said they tried everything but it was no use
Yeah, they tried everything and everyone but you.

I love Maura Brianne Reardon with all my heart. I never want to lose her.

What a great couple of weeks it has been. Last time I updated was the Friday BEFORE the Battle of the Bands at the JCC. So here's the story:

Saturday, May 28: Band practice right after school. It was pretty decent. We got ready for the battle, rehearsed, sweated our balls off working.

Sunday, May 30: The big day. I lay around the house getting ready. Alex Fitzgerald had slept over our house the night before, so he was already over. At 2 Barry Koivisto came over, and we chilled for a bit. Then Kyle Larivee came over, since we would be taking him to the battle, and he was playing trumpet for us in "9mm and a Three Piece Suit" by Catch-22. So after everyone is over, we get on over to Mike's house for 4:20, and we pack up and leave at 4:30. Good ride over. Much death. We get at the JCC for 5:10, and we get our gear inside, alongside another band called Mulch. Mark Volain, my good friend, was working the battle, and he bought our first CD. We made 12 CDs to sell, and sold THEM ALL BEFORE WE EVEN WENT ON. So we get there, and we help set up the PA system that all the bands are gonna use. And then the wait sets in. Oh, and the love of my life came.

((I was so happy, because I had said something STUPID to her the few days before, and I felt like a wicked ass. I tell you what: I don't know how I landed such a nice, awesome, caring, sexy girlfriend. I did, though, by god. She is my everything; I cant stop thinking about her. Thats all I did this weekend. I cry when I'm not with her.))

So me and Maura made up BIG TIME if you know what I mean ;). I got her a rose. Yes, I am old fashioned. So we hung out until it was time for us to play, which was at 10:25. Mind you, we had to play before Hydraulic Sandwich.

So we go on. The stage temperature was about 102 degrees. No lies. It was boiling. I was sweating my ass off BEFORE we even played. We open up with "9mm and a Three Piece Suit" by Catch-22, and it is a ska song. I saw about 10 people skanking. It was so awesome, I almost came in my pants right there. Next song was "We Bleed for Oil", our first original, and even more kids were dancing. I lstened to the song afterwards, on our recorded tape, and it was the best we ever played it. Next was a song we just call "The Metal Song," which is a metal/hardcore song we wrote with no set lyrics. Pretty fun to play. Then came our headlining song: "There Is" by Box Car Racer. Evry single person in front of the stage was dancing. It was crazy. Two kids came on stage and skanked, and one jumped up and sang with us on a part. Amazing. That was the the middle of our show. Next came our two recently written originals: "Writing On The Walls" and "I'll See You In Hell." It was great.

After we played, so many people asked for a CD, but by then we had sold out. Also asked if we ever played at Pearl Street and when. WE HAVE FANS!!

So the battle ended up like this:
1st: Sixfinger
2nd: Hydraulic Sandwich (THEY WERE TERRIBLE)
3rd: Gone By Daylight (Piranha)

I was pissed. We were docked 20 points for SWEARING. Whatever. We'll be back harder and faster next year.

Last week, in terms of school, sucked. Got a 56 on a quiz in geometry. Terrible.

Went on an awesome canoeing trip this weekend. It was unbelieveable. I only talked about you one thing, though: Maura. I love her so much.

Kind of tired..

Maura, you are my everything.

KEEP IN SKANKIN'
