my mom was in town! we went down to gasworks park and watched kids fly kites. so cute.
favorite.
troll nostril.
that fremont troll is vicious... he just grabs full sized cars from under the bridge and... holds them..
i saw the most beautiful tulips. i love seattle flowers...
NOTE: if you're ever in seattle, you must go to the hi-spot cafe for breakfast. this was the best breakfast ever. and the restaurant is in a little old re-done house. aaaah i wish it was closer to UW/wish i had a car, just so i could go every morning.. (yay for visiting mothers with rental cars!)
got me some flowers at pike place market (with some of those neat tulips!)
last night i saw nickel creek with dilys. we were in the second row! (i've been having some pretty good luck with the random 2nd row tickets... first piazza and now this... eee)
yay tap dancing man!
that's jon brion in the middle. he was their opening act and he also played with them a bit... (he did the score for eternal sunshine of the spotless mind) when i heard he was opening i was really excited because i love ESotSM and that soundtrack, but honestly i was a bit disappointed. i think he's just not my style, as much as i loved him in the context of the movie. oh well! great show overall.
i was also kind of bummed that nickel creek didn't play "when you come back down"... maybe it's too popular? i don't know... they did play some really amazing stuff though. "can't complain" is beautiful. and chris thile plays a MEAN mandolin. sara makes me wish i had kept up playing the violin. (and i loved her dress! aah)
the concert was totally worth missing the office, but of course i made sure to download it and watch it ASAP when i got home... (better than tivo. hahah.)
...OH MY GOD, PAM. i love fancy new beesly.
and even if that whole amazing let-me-pour-out-my-entire-soul speech didn't happen, i still would have loved this episode. sumo-andy falling into the lake made me practically fall out of my chair and watch it over and over again. and stanley's "GAME ON." and dwight's GRYFFINDOOOOOOR.... best episode ever? i can't wait until this week's finale. so what if i have a paper due AND a 20-minute presentation on cephalopods the next day. -shrug-
i've been apartment hunting for next year... and i have a roommate! yay! i'm really excited to have a kitchen. (among other things. that's the main one though.)
these last couple days i've been on a total Rooney high. it happens every year or so around april/may... weird. i miss those days when my mom took me to see them (haha) in downtown LA when i was like 14... damn, robert carmine's a fox. i hope their new album comes out soooon. :D
i saw
this post on ONTD today and it made me a)laugh my ass off (CROC-A-DUCK? WHAT THE FUCK.), b)really comfortable with my spirituality (not really atheist per se, but definitely a believer of evolution) and c)really sad that the cute kid from "growing pains" grew up into such a... well, that. oh, kirk. :( i really don't understand some people. oh well.
summer can't come fast enough. another month and i'll be home!!! :D
