MAJOR storms rolled through this afternoon. I happened to be at work during the part that spawned several tornadoes in the area. We were watching from my co-workers office and it was literally black outside, we couldn't see across the street. And the wind... OMG, it felt like a tornado was going by. The windows were bowing in and out, and the revolving door in our building shattered.

On my way home I hit a bad patch of rain, but other than that, it went ok. The town looks like a war zone. There's a big mansion on a hill on the way to our house, it's an historic civil war house, at least 3 of their large 100 year old trees were snapped like twigs. One happened to be about 50 feet from the house and if it had snapped the opposite way, it would have crashed through the roof. Also heard that a tree fell on a car the next street over and another house at the end of the street lost most of the trees in it's front yard.

Before Jon left to take Peeps to the vet, we had lost power, and it's no wonder, there was a snapped power line down the road.

If I had been home, I think I would have freaked the heck out! I don't mind storms if I'm in a building with other people, but if I'm home, I'm a basket case. Not to mention I would have had to scoop up 9 ferrets and 4 cats and some how contain them all in the basement under the stairs. Um, no thank you!

I'm going to try and get some pictures of the destruction tomorrow. And btw ioevri1, your house is just fine. :)
