My head hurts - make it stop...
Been extremely busy at work today, non-stop.
I'll do a bit of a mini-update, with the juicy stuff added later and locked. :)
Ferrets:
They're doing ok. Took Bailey, Missy, Jack, Teddy, and Peri in for their Lupron on Saturday. Missy ended up staying the night so they could drain her cysts again. Another 79 ml removed! We're going to see how quickly it comes back this time, and then decide what the next step will be. Dr. said they could do surgery but it'll be $1,000 and there's no guarantee that it'll get rid of them. Not to mention they haven't done this type of surgery before in a ferret (just cats) so they're not sure of the outcome. Teddy is slowly sliding down hill. He's adrenal, has insulinoma, is now going blind from the insulinoma, and has ADV. He's reminding me of Skyler before we had to help him to the bridge. I think the ADV is getting the best of him. He's still alert and responsive, but he has these episodes where he just stands there and sort of shakes. He might be having mini-seizures, but I'm not sure. He's going to get an exam next time we're in.
It's weird being down to 9. I have to triple count them to make sure everyone is there. I've managed to integrate Bailey and Jack into the big group for a couple hours at a time. Surprisingly Bailey has behaved himself and Jack has stopped ear sucking (yay!), now the problem we have is with Pudge. He pretty much does to Bailey what Bailey used to do to him. He becomes the aggressor and attacks him non-stop. So we'll have to work on that.
Other stuff:
I planted flowers last weekend. Bought some pots, soil and plants and put them on the front porch. Of course with all the rain we've gotten over the last week, the soil is over flowing out of the pots, so I need to go back and drill some drainage holes before the plants die.
Also went riding again with MIL. Had a good time except for the screaming 11 year old that was riding behind me. She was scared to death of the horse and every time he moved she would scream bloody murder. And when the horse starting trotting? HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!! We thought she was falling off the horse, nope, just screaming help. Some how she managed to get the left rein wrapped under the front leg, so she couldn't stop the horse. And at this point, we were going down a very steep, rocky slope so the horse started to take off. The owner/guide had to jump on his horse and run over and stop the horse before it fell off the edge of this small cliff. Yeah, it was exciting. He then proceeded to grab the girl by the waist and rip her off the horse. He was pissed, and rightfully so! She wouldn't listen to a damn word he said the entire ride, she would just scream and laugh and complain. That little incident must have scared the crap out of her because she was quiet the remainder of the ride. That was an adventure, for sure. Going riding again on the 24th, this time with MIL, SIL, and nephew. I'm starting to remember why I got in to riding back when I was a kid. :)
That's all for now, time to pack up and head home. Drama post later! :)
