Home to sleep
Ok, I'm officially exhausted! What a long day. Like I said before, things went well but he's been having pain issues all day. The Dr. came by to see him and up'd his pain meds again (thankfully!) and prescribed another muscle relaxer and anti-nausea medication as the others weren't working. He also mentioned that the nausea might be caused by the actual surgery. Apparently the part of the brain that controls it, is VERY near where he removed the bone from the base of the skull, so it may have agitated it a bit.
He's in pretty good spirits, aside from the pain. He typically tolerates pain well, so when he says that he's hurting, it has to be really HURTING.
He was sooooo sweet this afternoon. Even after everything he went through and all the pain he was in, he held my hand and said:
"Thank you for being my loving and caring wife, and.... my friend."
Took everything I had not to cry. He insisted on holding my hand the entire time I was there (from 2p until I left at 845p), which I didn't mind one bit. If I could take away some of the pain that he's in now, I would do it in a heart beat.
Alrighty, I'm falling asleep at the wheel here. Need to get myself and the kids medicated, then I'm off to bed.
