Tethers '08

It was said,
"Just because there are others/doing
worse off, doesn't lessen my situation
anymore."
(And it was heard.)

So they laughed and smiled/there
were sparkles, a few butterflies, Sam
Adams, and a good time.
But when home,
the superlatives returned;
Is it really winter without a little snow.

They climbed a mountain,
and someone slipped,
but he did not yell; he did/not
utter "Help", because
he felt he could pull himself
up. (He was determined to not
be the boy that called "Wolf")

Because they were still
in the cold, the severity
of the wound and bruises
from where they had dragged
him along (tethered)
would not be discovered
until it was (superlative) too late.
