so, my life as real working girl has commenced. not that i'm a working girl in the prostitution sense, i mean i'm working in an office, making the big money (minus the big money part, substitute in making some more money than i was already making working part time).
so along with my current job at the verizon wireless arena, i'm also work for new balance in the apparel development department. so i work with the design team. i help them find fabrics for their spring 08 designs. i get confused at times because it's only "spring" 2007 and they're already on to next year.
i sat in a two hour meeting about zippers today. and as strange as it sounds, zippers are pretty interesting. and the fact that the meeting was two hours long got me down except when the guy running the meeting, who is asian, kept saying zippers as 'gippers.' i snickered a little each time in my head.
i now know more about fabric and the process of making certain types of fabric, and the certain compositions of certain fabrics, and the uses of certain types of fabrics, and anything else about fabrics than i could ever want to know in my life. but it's an intersting job, and while sometimes there isn't much for me to do, i still find it satisfying. plus...i've never been surrounded by so many attractive guys my age ever in my life than i am working in that office. it's pretty awesome. i get to sit and stare at pretty boys all day - some hippy-crunchy-granola types, some pretty boy types, some goofy - but all of them are smart, and creative, and i like it.
um, so, this month at the arena is pretty busy. not too many hockey games, which is kind of depressing because hockey games are my favorite events. but justin timberlake is coming at the end of march and i get to see that. and i get to watch like eight showings of disney on ice which should be about as fun as seeing the circus eight times in four days. but whatever. it'll be a good month, moneywise, for once.
here's to being a working girl...
peace and love.
