recycled percussion played at psu tonight. and i have to say i'm quite impressed with the magnitude of talent within the group. i was totally and completely impressed with that they can do. to be able to drum on all the crap that they have (trash cans, anything made of metal, a jack hammer, bread crates, milk crates, any kind of junk they can find) and just totally rock out, it's pretty damn cool.

when i was younger i wanted to be a drummer. like, in junior high, when they told you that you had to either join the chorale or the band, i chose the band (though i eventually ended up in the chorale as well). but i chose band because i wanted to play drums, but they wouldn't let me. they told me i wasn't allowed to, which is pretty lame in my book. and there wasn't a single girl percussionist in the band until freshman year of highschool, and by that point i'd already chosen a different instrument, and there was no turning back.

anyway, one of the guys gave me a drum stick for untangling and wrapping endless amounts of sound/power cords during takedown, and then after we helped load up all their gear they all signed my drum stick and it's now proudly displayed on my bureau.

i fell asleep in the shower today. and i only woke up when nessa knocked on the door because she had to pee. otherwise i think i might have been there for quite a while.

peace and love.
