This is part of my Who100 table, but it's really more of an excercise in trying to understand Ianto. Any thoughts on my interpreation/presentation of him here would be interesting to hear.

hmmm.. I liked this, especially that Ianto is more clever and sees things others do not.. but is the key supposed to be the TARDIS key? I find it hard to believe JAck would ever give that up under any circumstance

Glad you liked!

And it is the TARDIS key... I reckon Jack letting Ianto keep it somewhere safe isn't really him giving it up. He can still get it, it's just... not going to fall out of his pocket while he's chasing weevils. Eh, I just like the idea of the key fading!

Anyways, thanks for reading!

i have just figured out who ianto is! well, not really. that makes it sound like i have just reached a great revelation, when i'm not really, but i just thought of something that i think is reasonably clever. so here we are - ianto is an annie who is not loved back by sam. they both have that defensive retreat into rank pretending not to care, they both love someone who they can never really understand and who comes from a different time, they are both often overlooked by that person as someone who simply brings the coffee/does the filing. which makes things a bit easier, because i understand annie. sort of. annie is stronger than ianto though i think, which is doubly sad for him becuase she doesn't really need to be as much, because she is loved ( ... )

also, i think you're pushing your luck claiming this is five/jack. it's clearly ten/jack or nine/jack if it's anything, but that is quite alright.

Pft, Five is clearly referenced! White TARDIS, young Doctor... Okay, 'clearly' might be pushing it, yes, but Jack's been off galivanting with a Doctor during Torchwood series one, so it can't be Nine or Ten.

But yes, both this one and the other one I posted last night have minimal Five involvement. Don't worry, he's got a lot to say for himself in the next one.

That does make sense, actually. Although by the end Annie has been promoted, while Ianto is still bringing tea. But then, we don't have an 'end' to Torchwood as such. But it does make sense. And you're right, Annie is probably stronger. She certainly isn't keeping her semi-cyberised girlfriend in the police station's cellar, which must count for something.

She might shoot Owen if she met him, though.

I got Five :D honest I did - and I liked the image of the key fading even if I couldn't see him giving it up to anyone else for safekeeping... Heck I don't have to make sense do I?

And yes Ianto always sees more than anyone else realises *g*
