My dad and blogging

Mar 27, 2006 14:24

I was surfing the web on the computer outside when my dad, flipping through the Sunday Times, turned to me and said, "Eh, what is a block ah? They keep talking about all these blocks. How do I go to these blocks ah?"

It took me a while before I figured out that my dad was talking about a BLOG. "You have to know the address first la, before you can go. But if you want, I can help you find some that talk about Singapore politics."

"Okay. You do for me. Put into my favourites," he said, pointing at the iBook, which I was sitting at.

Of course, the iBook doesn't actually belong to him. It used to belong to me, but I let it become a family computer when I got my powerbook a couple of years ago. So it sits in a corner in the living room now.

But I decided to expropriate it yesterday afternoon, because my PBook has, quite mysteriously, died. Hard disk failure or something. I have to get it repaired. In the meantime, my dad will have to hold off his "block"-surfing for a while.
