Weekend goodness

Because I spent most of September feeling tired and grouched-out with church commitments, I decided to take a break from my band for the first month of October. This turned out to be a fabulous idea because I spent the last two Sundays doing a bunch of things that I wouldn't normally get to do on a Sunday, since I would otherwise be spending most of my Sunday in church.

Saturday

Saturday began with breakfast with my parents. That was, unfortunately, the worst part of my weekend. So enough said about that. I met the boyfriend after that and things were all peachy from there. We had a late lunch at Ichiban Boshi and watched Goal!. The movie turned out to be a lot of fun. He enjoyed watching a movie about football and I enjoyed watching the footballer in action. Heh. I actually cried a little during the bit about his father. I guess after the frustrating and upsetting encounter with my dad earlier that morning, the part about Santiago feeling rejected by his dad struck a chord with me. Aiyah, anyway, it's silly of me to cry about my dad, so I won't write anymore about it.

We went for sunset Mass at Sacred Heart Church. I like going for Mass in different parishes. I get to look at what the different churches look like and get to listen to different priests preach. I also saw that they had a small room that doubled as a toilet and baby-changing area, and it was air-conditioned! How thoughtful is that. I was so impressed to see that.

We went by the Asian Civilisations Museum after Mass since they were having their 24-hour event. Because of our late lunch, we weren't that hungry and decided to go to the museum first before dinner. That turned out to be a great idea because by time we left the museum, there was a long queue at the entrance to the Vatican collection. We got to look at the Vatican exhibition again as well as most of the other permanent exhibitions at ACM.

Sunday

Sunday was also another excellent day. Being on leave from my church group meant that I could stay in and relax on a Sunday morning. The boyfriend came over in the late morning and we had brunch. We stayed in and bummed around for most of the afternoon. Watched tv, played scrabble, had wine and cheese on digestives.

In the afternoon, we left to go to a Choice-er's place for a barbecue. I brought a salad, which was well-received because I'd put in alotalot of raisins. So it was more food and more wine. And T's excellent tiramisu! Mmm... Too lovely for words.

So that was my weekend. I wish for more weekends like that.

love, choice
