Ok, maybe this is the wrong question to ask on livejournal, but does anyone know much about other blogsites and communities?

I'm trying to think of a blog, like xanga etc., that is more about the editorials/essays style blogs, with some creative stuff thrown in, as opposed to the internet journal kind of thing.  Like, an xkcd.com blog, you know?  Any ideas?
