"Brandish a Candlestick" or "Your Mother Called and Wants Her Jewelry Back."

It really is intriguing when you discover that you yourself have no purpose in life.
You realize that the world would continue to spin.
That time would continue to tick.
That the oceans will still come and go with the tide.
Wind will blow, kites will fly, kites will fall.
Forests will burn, buildings will explode, people will die.
Children will be killed, be born, live.
Food will be eaten, food will be wasted.
Drugs will be taken, sweatshops will continue to run.
High-fives will be given.
Sex will be had.
Lightbulbs will always burn out.
Napkins will need restocking at that Fat Burger on the other side of town.
Music will blare unnecessarily loud in teens cars.
Coffeeshops will continue to have late night, live acoustic musicians.
Comic books will be read.
Slideshows will be shown.
Homework will be forgotten, ignored, done.
Soccer balls will be kicked, missed, kicked again, scored.
People will continue to function as a society without me.
I have no role that can not be covered by some one else.
There is no real purpose in the world for me to go on living.
Put the headphones back on.
Let the music play into your ears.
Then step outside your front door
Let the chorus carry you down the street.
