coolest nature moment so far of the summer

Coming to the bottom of a very steep and slippery portion of the trail from Sibley regional park to Huckleberry regional park, I stopped to smell some bay leaves, crossed a small wooden bridge, and then stopped to wait with most of the group for the others who were still coming down the steep hill. I looked up into the canopy of trees and found a spot open enough to see the dark, cloudy sky through the leaves. At that moment, I noticed a glory! A glory is a rainbow that is a perfect circle.

It was so beautiful! Perfectly framed by the trees. I think it reminded me of a similar peak through a forest canopy, this time of redwoods, up into the night sky of 1000s of stars while backpacking in Big Sur 2 years ago. Also, I had never seen a glory before. And I was proud to have noticed it and to be able to point it out to my trail group.
