[Isaac's starting to warm up to things in Luceti. Slowly. As in baby steps slowly. Hell, probably more like baby crawl. Or is that faster? Whichever the case, he isn't as nervous or lost like he was before.
The engineer had just stepped out of the weapons shop and received his 211-V Plasma Cutter tool, his trademark item. He looked over the vaguely gun-shaped piece of technology for any dents, marks, or anything else that seems like vandalism to his possession.]
Hmm... seems to be untouched. But...
[He notices that the small holodisplay isn't glowing after turning on the tool. That is quite odd to him, as it is supposed to display if the weapon is holding any ammunition. Curious to see if it's still loaded, or if there's a small bug to it, Isaac glances around for a few seconds before stepping out of village boundaries and into the open, by the wall.
There, he examines the tool a little further and hooks his fingers experimentally around the design. After a brief moment of awkwardness, a tender beep startles Isaac. The tiny holodisplay exhibits the number "12", suggesting that twelve shots exist in the tool. He sighs a bit as he rubs the back of his neck.]
There. Had me worried for a moment, like the receptionist violated it. Nice to see that it... it's... ... agh...
[Gradually, his sight grows static, and his head is throbbing lowly. Cringing, he curls forward and clutches his head through his helmet, blinking as he feels the world twitch and shiver around him. The wind felt like it was rushing even further, as he sees the grass brushing more aggressively and even a little erratically. He lowers his head to see a rounded, pale mass with bloody strands of blonde hair decorating around the top...
... oh god, it can't be. Could it be?
Isaac gasped and raised his weapon firmly toward the form. It was the head of his deceased lover, Nicole, glaring at him. Her pale, empty eyesockets released slow, steady, trickling ribbons of blood, which curved down her cheeks, and her mouth slowly opened... it too, was void of substance.]
Not you... not you again... I got over you... I know I have!
[His voice is shaky, but pretty clear, as if he's retaliating. The head of Nicole then begin to deteriorate, as the empty aforementioned orifices began to swell out flickering, unsettling beams of light, followed by twitching, strained, deathly yet suppressed wails, like of a distressed phantom.
This familiarly horrid scenario was enough to make Isaac pull the trigger, not just on his tool, but on his reality as well. The environment is peaceful again, the grass is brushing normally, and his head is at ease. After looking around, he finally pulled his attention down to the target of the sharp, electric blast; a rock. A rock with a clean, tempered incision sliced more or less through the middle of the stone.
... this is embarrassing, he thought to himself. Isaac rubbed the back of his neck, out of shame and anxiety in one blend. Then it became one-sided... to fear. His irises contracted and his mind is racing with some concerned thoughts. He's afraid... afraid of him not being completely over it. Is he really past his mental and emotionally dilemma? And if his hallucinations are still lingering, how will this affect his stay in Luceti? Has he really lost control over it, or is it because he let his guard down this one time? What if it happens again, and he actually hurts someone?
... All he can do is try his best, and keep a strong will. He's good at that. At least, most of the time.]
... Guess I should still be careful, for everyone's sake... not just for mine. Can't say my stay here will be boring for long.
((And now he's up for any interactivity, so feel free to spot him and criticize or whatever. Not like he won't explain, but he doesn't want to rattle anyone either. So have at it. :D; ))
