New Radio
Hi everyone. I want to start off by saying I love Aaron and Chris and couldnt ask for more understanding and awesome friends. Ok...anyway, I just got asked to join a band and I am taking it into consideration very seriously. Aaron, Chris, and Kevin may remember the lead singer/rhythm guitarist from middle school. I think he went to school with us for like a year or two. His name is Aaron Summerhill and he is pretty damn talented. The name of the band is New Radio. The weird thing about this is that they play a type of music that I have never really played before. I am used to the hard rock/metal stuff. They are way more mellow. About half of the songs are played on acoustic guitar. I am trying to think of a way to describe their sound...kind of like a Jars of Clay/Gin Blossoms/Better than Ezra kind of thing...only better. Seriously, this guy really has a talent for writing catchy songs with good musicianship as well. I really enjoyed jamming with him for the first time yesterday too. I think I am going to take him up on his offer. If nothing else, just for fun. They already have started to establish their name in clubs around the area and people and club owners are not only asking, but PAYING them to come play. For the first time in my life I could call myself a professional drummer. That would be cool. If anyone is interested, I have a copy of about four studio recorded songs that he did. He played all of the instruments including all of the percussion(which was actually performed 100% on a keyboard and sounded pretty good.) If anyone would like to hear it, I would be more than happy to make you a copy. Good stuff. Wow........I really need to learn how to begin new paragraphs...I am such a computer illiterate moron. Anyway, when the time comes that Aaron and Chris are able to get their instruments, all of this would take a back seat to anytime they wanted to work on music...no matter how involved I am with this band. Just because they are my friends and bosom buddies and they would probably go in a musical direction that I am more interested in pursuing. This is still pretty exciting to me though. I enjoy playing the mellower stuff too as long as there is talent involved and the music is good. Ok......I really need to go to bed now, I worked alot these last two weeks(about 150 hours after this weekend) and my brain is about to cease function completely. You guys have a good freedom day!
