I can deal with a screaming kid briefly but then I want the parents to deal with the situation (ideally by removing the kid from the situation). Kids will scream at times, it goes with the territory BUT how the screaming is dealt with by the so-called adults varies quite a bit.
Then there are the parents who let their kids wander into unsafe situations and get annoyed when someone else tries to herd them back towards safety (e.g. fireworks shows, sword-fights, cooking demos, zoos, circus acts, etc.). Granted, the venue has to make a reasonable effort to not put people in harms way (e.g. by putting the police tape up around the area that the fireworks are likly to land) BUT the so-called adults should be responsible for seeing that the non-adults obey that tape. If the adults don't keep the kids on the correct side of the fence ...

That is the kind of behaviour that makes me want to go over to the kid and scream back. Right in their face. To show them that it's fucking annoying and that people don't like it.
If one of those instances wasn't at the day care center here at work, I would have. I didn't want to deal with the cops showing up and arresting me for it though. Doesn't mean the idea didn't cross me mind repeatedly as I weighed the "reward" versus the "punishment".
