Nearly ten years ago, people from across the globe shared our loss. They mourned along with us. They cried for the lives that our people lost. And they supported us in our efforts to bring those who waged war on our country and our way of life. In the days following the attacks, we had a chance to embrace the world and become part of it. In the years that followed, we failed.

Today, those people across the globe celebrate our victory. They share in our joy that the man who orchestrated the attacks has been brought to a final justice.

We're at the crossroads again. Nearly a decade has passed. We've been given another chance to be a part of the global community and another chance to put aside our differences in favor of peace.

Please... don't let petty bickering, political stubbornness, ideological bigotry and misplaced ego get in the way.
