DC stands for Damn Continuity.

Ok.. the reboot was supposed to fix continuity (AGAIN) and set up a new 'easier to follow' universe for new readers to join in.

Soooo...

Legion #1 came out this week (and Legion Lost #1 last week) along with the various GL titles... all of which seem to have picked up literally 'the next day' after the 'last' issues of each respective title.

The only change to Legion is that the Legion Acadamy stories that were running in Adventure have been integrated into the main storyline (which technically isn't a 'change' per se - just normal story development since those characters were going to be in Legion soon anyway).

Even weirder, our 31st century heroes are mentioning 'the Flashpoint Barrier' which stops them from going to the past (Legion Lost is specifically about a group of Legionnaires who have been trapped in the 21st century because of the Flashpoint Barrier).

So.. it's possible the Legion is actually quite literally the OLD pre-Flashpoint Legion trying to figure out what's happened and why the past is blocked to them for some reason.

Given that we Legion fans have had Legion rebooted back to issue 1 every 5-10 years, this isn't even a problem anymore.. especially since nothing seems to have changed at all.

GL also picks up a few months after him having his ring taken away by the Guardians (now - sidenote - if they could take Jordan's ring away - why do they keep saying that they can't take Sinestro's away 'because the ring chose him'? But I digress...). Everything's pretty much exactly like it was.

Yet in other titles, like JLA, it's clear this isn't the same Earth we had before.

Seriously - 52 titles and they still couldn't get it sorted out?

Oh - and to make things even more insane... remember the whole 'we're starting over and we'll only have these 52 comics and that's it' thing?

Hellblazer Nov 2011 came out this week - and it's not reset to #1... and last time I checked, Constantine is definitely in the DC mainstream continuity... although his comic is labelled (and is STILL labelled) a Vertigo title - which is odd since we were told that 'the three histories were merged' - and one of the three sure looked like Vertigo...

Ah well, next month Legion:Secret Origins is coming out - a six part miniseries designed to explain the current continuity in the Legion - and FINALLY - we get the Legion Flight Ring promotion (similar to recent Blackest Night and Flash ring promotions...).
