I run ScriptSafe, possibly it runs differently? Oh, also I'm in Chrome and not Firefox. I imagine you're using Firefox based on your previous post, so that might be it.
I run Firefox 23 with JS blocked by "Quickjava 1.8.1.1", I don't have issues with pages that don't load on LJ. If something requires JS for me to see it on LJ, that something can go jump into the lake, and that includes YT embeds using "iframe" script.
Presumably. Every page, even "ad-free" pages from "ad-less" accounts, tries to leak a bunch of information to a Russian spam network and display "hidden" ads. People who block ads and disable scripting don't leak the information, but the page fails to load.

(Greasemonkey is a Firefox add-on. It runs anything you tell it to - in this case, "make the ad crap FUCK OFF" before loading the ad crap.)
