So, is there going to be (or is there currently) something on the Utah books making it illegal for a man to do anything that could potentially endanger the fetus, as well?
If it does, then every single miscarriage would have to be treated like a murder investigation.
I think we need someone to actually pass and enforce something like this to show just how nutty the concept is. Colorado Springs is doing it for libertarianism, let Utah do it for the "FETUSES ARE PEOPLE TOO" mindset.
Stalin's russia and a few of the warsaw pact nations did it already - one made it mandatory for women to undergo state gynecological exams to ensure such things weren't hidden and the discovery of miscarriages were generally followed up by murder investigations.
And there's an effort in the South Carolina House to stop state health insurance payments for abortions for victims of rape and incest. Don't know if it will pass (pretty sure if it comes up for a vote, all the Democrats will vote against it), but the fact that it's even being brought up is a bit sickening.
