my friend is going off to basic training right now. hes ben waiting for months to go. he just called me from the airport in st louis, so he'll be in texas soon. ive rediscovered oldies, well ive always listened to the beatles and cat stevens, but theres so much good music from the vietnam war era. i think artists make better art when there is controversy in the world. im having a dull-period right now, i havent made anything artistic in about a month. maybe its just because its winter or something. my friend beth emailed The Faint about an english paper, and joel actually emailed her back. the paper is on p2p music downloading. the band had some interesting things to say. they said that when big labels (and metallica) say filesharing is hurting record sales, it has an affect, but nobody listens to the artists. he said that filesharing can give alot of smaller bands a much better chance. heres another thing he mentioned that i really agree with "Before napster got shut down i was very into trying to hear new things. in fact, i think it was the most i have ever been into listening to music. very exciting time." --l473rzor
