In case you hadn't heard, Peter Jackson to produce The Hobbit as two movies

Production starts in 2009, the movies will be filmed back-to-back like The Three Musketeers and some obscure fantasy trilogy from a few years ago, they'll be released in 2010 and 2011. A director has not yet been named, maybe that dude that did Biosphere is available.

I'm betting a Thanksgiving release for both of 'em.
