So I've seen two very good, very different movies today, friday. The first movie was Closer, which I downloaded last night and watched half of during my hour free today (it's friday! if you think i do work during my free on a friday, you dont know me very well!). It was amazingly good (re: my new icon)! Natalie Portman gave an amazing performance, as did Julia Roberts (as always). Jude Law was a bit annoying, but that may have been what they were going for. Clive Owen was, well, Clive Owen. He's always deep, dark, and mysterious.
So then I went to the real movies and saw Sin City with Ms.
maroon_notebook. We actually almost didn't get in, cuz the punk kid at Sono wouldn't let us in without a parent, which, needless to say, we didn't have. so i offered a guy $5 to be my older cousin, and we got in.
the movie was awesome. the director's amazing use of black and white with subtle coloring made the movie brilliant. I especially loved the occasional transition into comic book style outlines. i read the first book of the 7-book series, The Hard Goodbye, so I didn't quite understand some of the other plots, but I ended up getting most of it. The acting was great, too--especially Mickey Rourke and Jessica Alba, who were awesome. And Clive Owen, who was... dark, deep, and mysterious.
So that's my night. Tomorrow ought to be interesting too... my racing through bio notes so i can meet up with lisa and ms.
so_kiss_me ala trumbull mall so i can buy myself some pantalones! woo its been fun. i feel bad for those students who always get the high high grades but dont have a fun highschool. I'm really proud to say that not only have a managed to find a balance between free time and homework, one of the major problems we're faced with, but I've also found a balance between being serious/learning and enjoying myself! Almost everyday you'll find my laughing hysterically at least once. I love it. ::smiles::
Alright, its time for bed. I'm tired and i gotta get up and do bio notes before i go to the mall, if i go at all... mes parents have been grumpy as heck lately... wish me luck!
