I posted this journal on my myspace yesterday, however i figured i should also put it in my lj... so here ya go...
I feel like writing. Times like such are rare, but I figured I may as well pen (type?) my thoughts.
I'm sitting here watching Loaded: Green Day on FUSE. Watching some old GD videos got me thinking of music and the memories I associate with them. Like if you hear a certain song, you think of a person, event, occurance, whatever.
So I decided to write a few down for shits and grins to see what I can remember about the songs and memories.
Green Day - the entire Dookie CD - I think of Bobby and goin surfing with that mofo every day during summer in HS, good times.
Jack Johnson - "Better Together" I think of Blayre and our memories over the summer
Authority Zero - "Mexican Radio" I think of Matt and our summer skim sessions, that song seemed to get some serious rotation with us.
Vallejo - "You Are" all the Vallejo shows I went to with Christina, there seemed to be an obnoxious amount of them too.. haha
The Ataris - "San Dimas High School Football Rules" I think of Dee and our 2 years together back in HS and fish year of college
The Scabs/Ugly Americans - "Boom Boom Baby" - I think of P. Diddy and I singing random lyics at the show, in class, and at work and laughing about it every time
Red Hot Chili Peppers - entire Californication CD - I think of tripping down to South Padre with my stepdad to go surf
Strunz and Farah - the "Americas" CD - Road trippin in Mexico with mi familia
Tenacious D - "Fuck Her Gently" - the BAD ASS times in Ktown with Weasil, Carl, Joey, and I chillin in front of the library playing music.
Del Castillo - "Vida" - my first impression when Weasil, let me listen to them for the first time and being completely blown away
311 - "Beautiful Disaster" - my awesome surf session down in Costa Rica, it was the last song I listened to before getting the barrel of my life
System of a Down - "Aerials" - one specific surf session with Shoe out at Fish Pass
SOAD - "B.Y.O.B" - damn Sanchez and playing this catchy song to make me think of the beginning of Summer '05
Pink Floyd/Led Zeppelin - anything - makes me think of Mr. Daniel Butler
Scissor Sisters - "Flithy/Gorgeous" - HAH if you dont know why I have this song here... then you shouldn't be wondering! hee hee!
Gipsy Kings - "Bamboleo" - my sisters dancing when they were just toddlers
A Perfect Circle - "3 Libras" - being at the APC concert with Christina a while back
Red Hot Chili Peppers - "Cant Stop" - Blayre!! :)
Vallejo - "Downtown" - Hope freaking out because we finally got to see Vallejo together and the two of us singing our freakin hearts out
Dashboard Confessional - some song... - I think of Albert singing DC while completely shitfaced and me and Linds laughing at him. Gotta love that trip to College Station.
Beastie Boys - anything - Matt Moody and Chef Ed constantly singing/rapping
Black Eyed Peas - My Humps - my gay roommate and his chronic ability to make fun of any song and make me laugh
Mudvayne - "Lost and Found" CD - me chillin with Mandi and giving her the cd.. hah
Outkast - "The Love Below" CD - HAH Spring Break '04 .. "Where are my panties?!" and Guy LeDouche ... hahaha
so many more songs and so many more memories...
