Hello to everyone from the
dragon_age friending meme! Coincidentally, I just got a getting-to-know-you meme from
cowards_kiss so LET'S GET THIS THING STARTED.
Meme rules:
- Comment with "Come at me, bro"
- I'll respond by asking you five questions so I can get to know you better.
- Update your journal with the answers to the questions.
- Include this explanation in the post and offer to ask other people questions.
1. What's your favorite quote, and why do you like it so much?
Keep faith. Trust to love. Fight with honour- but fight to win. (Kane Milohai to Wonder Woman, written by Gail Simone)
I don't really know why I like this quote so much, apart from the obvious reasons (Wonder Woman! Gail Simone!). It doesn't really *mean* anything if you think about it hard, and it's not really applicable to my daily life- I don't go into epic battles very often, for example! But it's easy to remember and something about it makes me feel brave. I like to quote it to myself when I'm having a wobbly moment, and it helps calm me down and makes me feel stronger.
2. What do you consider to be the most annoying trait a person can have?
Whistling. If you whistle nonsensical things constantly, I am sorry but I am secretly wishing you all manner of nasty punishments. Something about it is just nails-on-chalkboard annoying to me, especially if it's one of those noodly tunes that just. doesn't. end.
3. When you're reading a book/playing a video game/watching a movie/whatever, do you prefer a well-developed plot or well-developed characters (assume, for the purposes of this question, that you can only have one or the other...)?
Well-developed characters every time. I love really good characterisation, and if your characters are fun enough I'll watch them do just about anything. Case in point- I spent one summer watching the whole of Lucky Star. No plot whatsoever there! But the characters were fun and enjoyable. This is probably why I don't like Moffat Who as much this series- it's very plot heavy and light on the significant characterisation details.
4. Where would you most like to go on a vacation?
America! I have been there three or four times already, each time to a different part, and I loved it every time. I just adore the food, the variety of places you can go, and how different yet familiar everything is. I would really like to live over there for a couple of years.
5. With which fictional character do you most identify?
Twilight Sparkle!
No, I'm not a magical talking purple unicorn (as far as you guys know) but I am very fond of my own opinions and usually prefer books to people. Like Twilight, I can be quite awkward in social situations and prefer to do things 'by the book', and I do tend to idol-worship people I look up to. I also make that face quite a lot.
