So all this month one of the forums I frequent was running a daily drabble competition. As it was only 100 words each day I contributed from time to time and now that it's ended I thought I'd share some of the ones I thought my lj buddies would like. I actually ended up winning the thing as well, so I guess that might assure you that these are all readable, at least :p
Anyway, today I'll post the Doctor Who ones and one Avatar one. I also wrote a bunch of Mass Effect drabbles, which I'll put up tomorrow to avoid spamming everyone. (and one Friendship is Magic one, which I might post anyway just for kicks)
In the beginning there were four nations. Earth, air, fire, water. But they could not live in harmony without a hand to guide them and eyes to watch them.
"I will make a vessel." said Earth, gathering clay into the shape of a girl.
"I will give it life." said Fire, drawing the spark of the heavens into her.
"I will give her power." said Water, calling the anger of the storm into great strength.
"I will give her spirit." said Air, and gave her the wind's freedom to die and be born again, as long as the world stood.

"What is Amy to you?"
Rory thought about it. About her smile, bright and sudden like sparks or stars. How she threw him into contrast- highlighted his good qualities, shadowed his worst ones. How she was a guide and a comfort in dark places. The sheer warmth of her presence, and the cold burning of her anger.
"Light." he said, and it was so simple he laughed. "She's light."

"The hardest thing about time, the very hardest thing, is that she's fickle. The golden, perfect moments you want to last forever recede and vanish into the distance while pain, misery or just plain boredom last a lifetime. And through all this, you're the same. You can't skip moments any more than you can make yourself forget.
Much as you'd want to.
No matter how much you mess about with time, how you change or bend or break it, it comes back to that. Time changes. You don't."
