How do you drive this thing?

Judy and I are putting together a plan in case we decide to evacuate. We're terrified and curious in turns.

At least if we decide to leave we know which way to go to get out of town. Fortunately, or unfortunately I guess, we live outside the upper boundary of the map. Fortunately it means we may or may not be safe. If we are to believe what the map says about evacuation zones, we're not even anywhere near it. I saw some cool animations on TV that showed some wind speed predictions once the hurricane comes inland. I've been looking for online and can't find one yet. If I find it I'll post it. I wanted to demonstrate how unnerving it is to see that they are predicting that even as far away from the coast that we are, we met see 100 mph winds. Ayeeeeeee!

So how bad will it get? We're not sure yet. Here is a chart of hurricanes by intensity that have struck the US in the last 150 years. It looks like Rita might be heading toward the top of the list.
