Never-ending Math Equation

According to Greek myth, all of the world's evils were once held in a box. Inside this box, humanity was able to subdue the bad and live a life of peaceful goodness. Then a curious woman named Pandora opened the box and let the evils of the world out into the world. However, she did manage to close the box before Hope got out.

Now I have a question: if this box contained the evils of the world, then why the fuck was hope in there?

Maybe hope is evil.

I keep losing hope and going into a state of emotion-less bliss, then she stops being a selfish druggie and gives me some more fuckin hope. Two days later, here I am holding onto it again. To be free, you have to lose hope too (It's only when you've lost everything that you're free to do anything).

I don't want to be free. I don't want to be smart. I don't want to be interesting. I don't want to be "pleasant". I want to be dumb, oblivious, and happy. If the first intelligent humans, those seeking knowledge got more miserable as they got smarter, then why did we proceed to evolve?
