London Poetry

Earth has not anything to show more fair:
Dull would he be of soul who could pass by
A sight so touching in its majesty:
This City now doth, like a garment, wear
The beauty of the morning; silent, bare,
Ships, towers, domes, theatres, and temples lie
Open unto the fields, and to the sky;
All bright and glittering in the smokeless air.
Never did sun more beautifully steep
In his first splendour, valley, rock, or hill;
Ne'er saw I, never felt, a calm so deep!
The river glideth at his own sweet will:
Dear God! the very houses seem asleep;
And all that mighty heart is lying still!
- by William Wordsworth, 1802

This Olympics feels quite special, the home games and the crowd support for all the British athletes as well as the other competitors. It's made me feel so proud of everyone, of the BBC for their fantastic coverage and everyone involved. I wish I had tickets so I could really feel part of the atmosphere, the kind of group feeling and union that would feel amazing. This is the kind of national support I can feel a part of.

It's certainly inspiring as well and the list of sports I want to start doing is ever increasing. Some of them I already had a mind to work on, like Archery, Riding and Swimming, but now Rowing is taking a place too. I'll be needing to get my running and karate going properly as well, especially if I want that @nd Dan black belt.

Currently 4th in the medals table with 18. including 6 gold medals. :-)
