Axe Falling part 1

So tomorrow we get to find out what the first £6 billion worth of cuts are going to come from. It's easy to be negative but I shall remain hopeful about things until I hear otherwise, but of course be prepared for the worst, this is the Conservatives we're talking about.

From what I've heard, anecdotally mostly, is that most managers and councils have no connection or understanding of how to make things work efficiantly, to give job satisfaction or what is actually needed and realistic in different places. Councils always seem obsessed about trying to get fancy restaurants and shops into parks when that isn't what most people who actually use them want or need. Or the idea of Park Rangers/Wardens having one park to cover so it becomes their area, they can get to know the land and the people that go there and you get invested in it, and so do better, extra and more work for it.

It really does seem like the B Arc are running things, (see Douglas Adams) and you just have to do your best in your little corner and circle of influence. If one day I have the money there are so many things I'd like to do in Northamptonshire. Fund a county museum and proper storage facilities for all the historical and archaeological finds that come from here for starters.

So many plans and things to do indeed!

Plus great episode for Dr Who last night The Hungry Earth, very much going back to some of the classic Who type stories as well, and less of the big over aweing spectacles. Very nice!
