One Way, Or Another

What: Time to swoop in and save the dudes and damsels in distress! It can be as quick as you like (grab and *poof*), or there can be COMPLICATIONS, like monsters interfering, or victims being opposed with cages/restraints/etc.

Suzaku piloted the Lancelot right alongside Lelouch, looking about for Wakened. His heart pounded in his chest and he took a deep breath to focus. He was worried about Euphy above all else but she wasn't the only person on his mind. He had to do this professionally and swiftly.

"Lelouch, do you feel anyone around here?" he asked over the communication system.

     With the rest of the city deteriorating, even staying inside seemed to no longer be an option. Everything was going crazy, and that being the opinion of someone who was now and then questionably sane was definitely something to be said.

Yet, at least being inside put walls between him and the things outside. It was simple comforts like these that Mao retreated to. Solitude, confinement, if he shut his eyes then all this would vanish. It was just too bad her sweet words weren't there to reassure him.

Crouched there within the house he thought he'd known, he was torn between shutting out the panicked voices from beyond and listening for any changes. His phone was lost somewhere and he wasn't about to move to seek it out.

Suzaku looked ahead, speeding up in the Lancelot.

"I'll follow," he said, unable to see anyone up ahead. "You know who you feel?"

     It was with a gasp that he turned his head towards the front. It seemed like so long since he'd heard that voice, but he knew it couldn't have been so. Naturally he had his suspicions; such were easy to fall back on when the world you thought you knew was crumbling around you.

"L...Lelouch....?" he murmured, fingers slowly uncurling from about his head. "...and Suzaku..!" A smile of relief broke through his tension as he verified those minds, and he scrambled to his feet, stumbling towards the door. They were here, they were really here! He wasn't going to question how, not when salvation was so close. The door flung open, and Mao stepped outside, his face brightening as he saw the two mechs.

"Lelouch! Suzaku!" he exclaimed, waving a hand as he stepped outside.

That was when the house itself began to shift and move.

Suzaku spotted the young man as he stepped out of the house and waved. The shift in face as he spotted them stirred something within him. Things had been rotten in their absence and they had to save Mao and the others.

"Mao! Hold on, we're-" Suzaku called out before the house started to move. He gasped and then dashed forward.

"Watch out!"

     "Wha-"

Mao turned, staring as the building shuddered and then began to stand. He was only vaguely aware of Lelouch's appearance as he backed away from the structure. It didn't take any further urging from the other; Mao ran for the Knightmare's hand just as arms separated from either side of the house, and it lashed out towards the dark mech.

Suzaku wasted no time. He blazed past the Shinkiro and drew out the twin Maser Vibration Swords, swinging them at the house to slice through one of the arms while protecting the vulnerable Mao and Lelouch.

"I got it. You guys get out of here," he said over the network.

     Mao covered his head, flinching at the noise. It was a dizzying feeling to be picked up by the Knightmare frame, but it was far better than being anywhere near his house.

Said house didn't seem to be backing down, even without an arm. It threw itself bodily at the Lancelot.

"Got it," Suzaku said, slipping in between the house and the Shinkiro. There was a loud crash of masonry against metal and Suzaku was pressed back into his seat as the Lancelot took the blow. He gave the Yggdrasil Drive a boost and made the Lancelot charge ahead to knock the house forward. He then jumped back and then swung the swords again, knocking it to the ground.

     The house held no contest against the combined efforts of both mechs. Splinters and debris went flying everywhere as the Lancelot's swords made contact, and the Shinkiro would have no trouble hitting it at that point once it fell to the ground.

It was a direct hit that ended up showering them with an explosion of plaster and glass.
