All had been said and done, the cake had been cleaned off (mostly), and there he was, right back where he had started. Sitting in the same place, even. He wasn't really sure why - he could've just gone home already. But maybe he just wanted to think a little more, and reconsider trying again. Or maybe he just wanted a restart...that last conversation wasn't exactly the best "Welcome back" present he could have asked for.

Really, he needed to stop thinking so much about this. It wasn't helping, and he knew that. As much as he tried to deny it, he knew as well as anyone else that thinking about problems and trying to find solutions by himself wasn't one of his strengths. At times like this, he needed help.

But...not being able to do anything was just bugging him so much. Did he used to worry so much about that?

It was right about then, when he was replaying everything he had seen at home for the ten dozenth time, that he heard a voice. Sora, caught unaware, almost literally jumped to his feet, his surprise clear on his face. But he relaxed when he saw that, unlike last time, it was someone he didn't know.

"Oh..." he replied, looking back at the gate. "Yeah, I know I can." He turned back to Six, wondering if he should continue...and then decided that it couldn't hurt. This guy looked pretty serious, but that was no reason to assume anything bad. "Well, actually, I just got back. But..."

Six waited, listening to the teenager. When the kid's voice trailed off, he still waited for more, yet nothing came.

"Things aren't going well?" he asked.

It was something he sort of dreaded as well. To return home and find things worse off than before. And considering how bad things had been, that would've been a huge problem.

He walked a little closer, silent as a ghost, and looking up at the gate. He stopped a respectful distance away, turning his head so the boy would know he was looking at him. He knew with the sunglasses that it wasn't easy to tell.

"That's not it, exactly." Sora said, letting his head drop as he thought. How could he put this? "I mean...I don't really know how they're going." He turned his head back up to look at Six, hesitating for a moment. He wanted to talk, sure. But right now, he was having trouble getting the words out. "It's-"

Didn't help that he couldn't figure any of it out for himself, either. Maybe, he thought, it would be better if he just changed the subject.

"Who are you, anyway?" he asked, a small smile replacing his thoughtful expression. Right now, meeting people sounded a lot nicer - and a lot easier - then trying to figure out the mess with his world. "I don't think I've ever seen you around before."

Six lifted an eyebrow at the sudden subject change. Still, he supposed he owed the kid his name after just walking in on the teen's thoughts.

"Six. I got here about a month ago."

He looked back up at the gate for a moment. "Is there something wrong with the gate itself?"

Miss Inoue had said she was going to visit someone else's world. Were there side effects to that?

"And I'm Sora." The boy smiled even more - yeah, this was much easier then trying to figure out what was going on - before continuing. "So you haven't been here for long, huh?"

But, of course, the change of subject couldn't last. Which made sense, he thought. It was a big subject, that led to a lot of big questions...and no wonder this guy was curious. If he was newer to the city, he probably didn't know that much about how going home worked. So Sora shrugged, shaking his head.

"Nah, I don't think so. It's just that something strange happened when I went home, and..." He looked off to the side, as if stopping to think, before looking back up. "It means that I can't find out about something really important."

Six chose not to answer that question. After all, he'd already stated he'd been there about a month. That sort of implied that he hadn't been there long.

His head tilted slightly to one side. "Something your other self couldn't experience or...?"

He let the question trail off, allowing the boy to fill in not just other possibilities but also his name.

Perhaps what the teen wanted to find out was something his Unwakened self wasn't able to see. Like in those video games Rex liked so much where you only had the one character's point of view.

"Nah, it's..." Again, he wondered how he could explain this, especially to someone who wasn't that familiar with Nautilus - explaining wasn't something he was great at, as he had learned from past experience. "I went back, and I could see what was happening just fine, for awhile. But then something big happened, and everything just stopped."

He wasn't sure if that was really clear enough. So the boy kept thinking, trying to grasp at some other way to say it.

"It's like a broken record. The same thing keeps happening over and over again, and I can't see what comes next. But...when people go home, that usually doesn't happen. At least, I've never heard about it happening." He didn't think that Six would know what was happening, either, but it couldn't hurt to tell him anyway.

Six tilted his head slightly to one side, considering. A broken record? That didn't seem right.

He mentally reviewed what he'd been told previously about the differences between Wakened and Unwakened life, trying to cobble together some way of understanding it. Rex had said that visiting your home world was like sitting back and watching a script play out.

"If I remember correctly, time flows differently here, doesn't it?" he mused aloud. "After all, you could be here for months yet when you return it's as if you never left. Or you could spend months over there 'catching up' but it only takes a few days here. Do I understand that right?"
