Furman's was a place that Wing knew of and treated as something of a landmark... but he'd never actually visited the place. This was mostly because he'd already collected a handful of locations he was perfectly happy to spend his free time at and didn't particularly need another one. But tonight he'd spotted Sideswipe on the street outside as he flew back to Ground Zero and the prospect of finally making it out to Furman's had wiggled its way into his processor ( ... )

He was too engrossed in his drinking to really notice anyone entering or leaving the bar. It was something better to focus on. Something... mundane and normal. Not anything heavy.

In fact, he was doing his best to make a little pyramid of cubes on the bar in front of him. It didn't seem to be working out so well, listing constantly to one side before falling over with a clatter. He only scoffed, and reached for another, full, cube, his hand sort of flailing around the tabletop.

He'd get this.

It was a sorry state for someone Wing was trying to remind himself was usually well coordinated. He stepped up behind Sideswipe's shoulder and casually pushed the full cube towards his hand before moving around to sit properly next to him.

"You had an improper load bearing ratio on the eastern north-south wall of Cube Tower there. Catastrophic structural failure." Your pile fell over because you probably can't walk in a straight line anymore, much less stack cubes in one.

There was suddenly a cube in his hand. How in the world had it gotten there? It took him a minute to connect Wing's presence to the gesture, and then he hunkered down over his energon, the bits of armor on his back mantling and fluttering.

"That's what I was trying to do," he grumbled, slurring the words only slightly. "None of your business."

"My mistake, then. You did a fantastic job."

He secures a full cube of his own before sliding back a few of Sideswipe's empty ones that were more in danger of being knocked off the bar, organizing them into a neat little line absently. Honestly, he was torn between surprised and disappointed that Sideswipe had managed to get through so many already. That he was still upright was actually a little impressive.

"I know. I know I did."

His attention is suddenly focused on a half-full cube in front of him. Yes. Perfect. Just what he needed. He abandons the tower. The cube is far more important. He lifts it up, peering into it carefully.

And then he realizes Wing has sat down next to him. He looks back up, blearily. "What're you doing?"
