It had been a few days since Robin had contacted Sari and asked her to join the Teen Titans. She'd leapt at the idea, because it gave her more time to spend with Wykkyd, and to get to know Kid Flash and Jericho and Robin a little better as well. But she wasn't yet fully aware of just what being a Titan really meant yet. Or what any of what she was meant. Not fully human and not fully Cybertronian, living with Autobots and playing with Decepticons, Sari was a little bit of everything and nothing ( ... )

Something that Terra found she missed was the outdoors. Crashing in caves, nothing but a sack of beef jerky and a flashlight. That would have been great if it had been voluntary, but there was that very, very strong reason why she had been camping: People hated her.

At least she didn't get the same flak in Nautilus. Yet.

She closed her eyes and tried to pretend she was back in that warehouse in Gotham. That had been a nice place to sleep, all things considered. She could almost picture herself there despite the lack of traffic sounds.

Then something started crawling up her leg. Terra was no stranger to bugs, or even large spiders, but this felt really, really big in comparison to the creepy-crawlies she had shared beds with. Reflexively, she yelped and kicked up her leg, sending the thing flying. Then she jumped to her feet in case she had to squish it--another very common occurrence on the road. But she stopped dead when she saw the girl.

Had Terra seen her on the network before? She looked about her own age. (What does that ( ... )

"Whoa!"

Lunging forward as the little green robot flew up into the air, Sari just barely managed to catch the little guy, grasping hold of its arm and bringing it back in towards her.

After making sure that no permanent damage had been done, she let the four robots down to the ground, where the green one immediately wandered back over to Terra, sitting on her foot.

The glare didn't put her off. Hanging around Prowl and Ratchet - both champion starers - made her immune to the stare. So she simply shrugged.

"Uh...sorry. They've got a mind of their own sometimes." she spoke, rubbing the back of her neck. "Uh...I'm Sari."

It was coming back. To her foot. Terra nudged it, but it didn't seem to want to go anywhere else, and she didn't want to break it. There was hurting the Titans, and then there was hurting this girl for no reason. She wouldn't do that.

"You said 'sorry' twice," Terra said. "I get it."

Walking jauntily, swinging her nailed bat, and whistling a merry made-up tune, Cassie meandered through the Northern District. There was never much to do in this city. She had no work anymore, even though she knew there had to be slashers in this city. Yet no one cared. They weren't scared, or worried, or even getting killed. This made Cassie insanely bored. Bored enough to walk the streets either looking for trouble, or looking to start it. After all, she needed some goddamn excitement before she went mad ( ... )

"No," Terra replied, though she grinned a little at being called "badass". She hid it by turning her head, letting the hair she always wore over her right eye simply fall further over her face. "It's my trick."

It took Terra a minute to place where she knew this girl. It was the toe video. Terra had thought it was extremely weird for someone to freak out over toes, so that post had stuck out in her memory. But in person, she didn't seem all that weird.

No, scratch that. This chick had a bat full of nails. Either she was the kind of street-trashing hooligan that Robin liked rounding up, or she was just nuts. And there was also the possibility that she was going to attack Terra.

Cassie swung the bat up and around, laying it across her shoulders (avoiding the nails embedding themselves into her skin, of course). She cocked her hip and grinned back; at least the girl could sort of smile.

"Too bad. It's pretty neat. So can you only make stone chairs or what? Because that could be a sort of lucrative business. Although I don't know how many people would want a stone chair. Well, maybe crazy villains with their kitties to pet or something."

Terra knew not to show off her powers. The element of surprise was important; that was how Slade had been mostly successful. You throw that away, your chances of victory drop by fifty percent.

In the end, Terra decided to ignore the question and play off of what the girl was saying. Get the conversation away from herself and what she was doing. "Crazy villains with cats? Isn't that sort of cliché?"
