Feeling an unwelcome tug on her mostly distracted mind Eve winced, but maintained her steady, constant hold on the situation at hand. The man that called himself Batman would go on ahead, she behind trying to shield him and some of the others from Her effects. It wasn’t fool proof, but it was a chance.
"I’ll stay here… Until it’s safe” Eve nodded, throwing a glance of appreciation toward the caped crusader as she hid behind a large slab of cement. She knew he would’ve preferred she stay out of it completely, but it was something she had to do. She was almost the only person who could get close enough to end it all.
Suddenly… she shuddered, the warmth of a ghostly touch snaking its way forcefully into her bloodstream. She looked young, younger than someone who should have to witness let alone understand what was going on, but the sadness in her eyes, and the bond she shared with the creature proved otherwise.
“Stay safe… ok?”
Eve offered nervously, extending tendrils of power she rarely exercised in this ‘universe’. It was now or never.

He blinked at her words of caution. For all she was doing, she was still a child- a child who had been forced to grow too quickly. That was no foreign concept to him.
"I will," he replied. It was time to get moving, now that he could somehow feel the cover Eve was granting. He turned and, keeping his sights on their target, moved into the shadows.
