It is a very versitile word.

In this case, I am using it as a noun to refer to Christianity, which is a religion that believes in, that is, has faith in, Lord Jesus the Christ.

Granted, his recent experience with a priest has led him to feeling a little more... awkward in his approach with the reverend guy.
