[Sound comes through of a violin, sort of absently picking up the strains from the song -- someone figuring it out by ear. And it's a seriously nice damned violin.]

I find that it turns on when you have the ON switch turned... on. Orsomethingalongthelinesofthat.

....yeah, mine doesn't have an 'on' switch, it's a touchscreen, you just touch it. Must've elbowed it or something.

Ah. One I got here's a little more primitive, I guess. Don't even know where it came from.

Nice.

Yeah.

Played violin to pay my way through school. I gave lessons and such.

2366? Those are some ancient numbers.

Lessons, huh? Well, that's a more honest method of payin' your way through school than mine, I'll give you that. Not that I flaunt it 'round with proud colors and all that.

...and who the hell knows if we're even from the same universe.

Hi. I'm Derek Rayne. Sorry. Don't know if we've spoken.

[He forces out a dry laugh.]

For anyone's sake, I'd rather hope not.

Alexander Wolfgang. Don't think we have. Then again, these past several weeks I've been kinda... cut off. From everyone else.
