[Once again, the city is up to no good, providing its inhabitants with a view of something they're not meant to see. This time the scene is in the Western District after night has fallen over all of Nautilus, the red sky casting an eerie light on two figures as they battle across a section of the area that has clearly taken a good deal of collateral damage. Visible in the background is what appears to be a destroyed, human-sized doll of some kind.]
[Six comes flying into view, wearing light mail of some sort and wielding two intricately engraved swords. His eyes--not hidden behind sunglasses for once--have crazed hate shining in them. His face is bloody from the massive cut on one cheek as he moves to attack Rex, swords in front of him and crossed.]
[Under normal circumstances, Rex would be horrified to see his good friend coming at him with weapons ready, the intent to maim so clearly written on his face. But the storm has distorted them both and Rex himself is wearing a positively manic grin, the clash against his partner having driven him into a frenzy. The cyborg is covered in debris, his protective cloak long since torn away to reveal the armored body beneath where successful attacks by Six have left mech fluids oozing into the open. As his opponent comes at him, Rex swings his built out left arm forward to take the attack. The Breaker Claw gauntlets are big and thick, hopefully enough that one of them will stop those twin blades. Meanwhile, the other Claw swings back to the rear...]
[Six is in mid jump, so all he can do is attempt to turn the leap into a roll before he reaches Rex. From the intent to kill all over his face, he clearly wants nothing more than to murder Rex. He keeps the swords in front of himself, intending to use those to take the brunt of Rex's own attacks.]
[Rex forces the left Claw into Six as he comes up, palm out and claws spread to force him to grapple with the over-sized almost feline-like appendage.
[Six's swords sink into that left Claw though not quite as deeply as his magna blades probably would've. He tries to get his feet under him to try and get more leverage.]
[The cyborg grunts in pain as the weapons bite into his palm, trying to adjust his own momentum against the push of Six's feet against the ground. Still, he can't let this chance pass him by... If he lets his foe get away, the fight will end up drawn out further. He's getting tired, that much is clear. So as Six digs in to try and regain control of the situation, Rex throws caution to the wind and wrenches the blades aside, right Breaker Claw darting in as a white and silver blur, the three points on the end of the wicked gauntlet driving to punch right through Six's chest.]
[His blades are yanked aside. The only thing that saves Six from being impaled is the mail covering his chest. However, silvery links go flying and blood spatters everywhere. The man's eyes are wide and his jaw is slightly slack as though shocked by the blow. His chest is a wreck, looking as though it had gone through a meat grinder, so it's very obvious that the man won't be alive for much longer.]
[Losing control as the strike connects, Rex ends up falling off to one side, dragging his target down with him. Dust flies into the air as the two collide with the ground, Six landing on top of Rex, the blood flowing freely from his torn up chest and all over the front of the cyborg. Rex shakes the two swords from his left Claw, the nanotech in them sealing the pierced armor before both arms return to normal. The look on his face is now one of disgust as he gets both hands on the shoulders of the dying man on top of him, working to push him off and away. Just as he's about to roll Six off, however...he stops. His expression becomes oddly blank. Rex's eyes - both of them, the robotic one is now human again - shut momentarily. And when they reopen, he has changed back to normal. The storm is over.]
[Realization strikes like a ton of cinder blocks. The bloodied face of his partner is right in front of him. Rex recoils instantly in horror, struggling to get out from under the weight of his former enemy.]
[Six is back in his green suit but the sunglasses are cracked on the ground next to Rex as if they'd fallen off during the fight. His eyes are clear of that burning madness and hatred as he gazes down at Rex. He starts to choke.]
[As soon as he's free, Rex turns, staring in shock down at his red soaked hands. The entire front of his torn blue and white shirt is slick with blood. Trembling, he looks down at the man at his feet. He's dying. Six is dying. And it's by Rex's own hands that the life is rapidly fading from his eyes.]
No... Oh god, NO! Six! I'm... I'm sorry! I didn't mean! You can't-! Please hang on!
[Rex drops to his knees, hands on Six's shoulders, voice rising an octave in urgency, panic clear on his face. His own shoulders are shaking.]
Six, PLEASE!
[Six struggles for breath but each inhalation is clearly getting harder. His fingers reflexively twitch, digging into the ground. Then his breathing stops and his fingers go limp. He stares blankly up at Rex.]
[Rex freezes in place for a second, trembling hands hovering over the stilled shoulders of the man he's come to think of as his father. Then he's hurriedly turning Six over, cradling the man against his body where he's knelt down, desperately looking into those empty brown eyes for signs of life.]
Six... SIX!
[Before he can stop them, the tears have started flowing, slipping down the sides of his face and dripping into the open wound on Six's chest. This is Rex's fault. This is worse than some random monster somewhere getting a hold of his partner and ravaging him. No, this is betrayal... This is some of the worst pain a son could ever cause his father. What if Six never comes back? What if he returns home through death and his memories are stolen? Rex buries his face against Six's neck briefly, sobbing, before leaning back again, bellowing in rage and pain.]
[And it's too much.]
[Everything that's gone on in Nautilus and at home... It's all too much. Six has lost six years worth of memories. Black Knight has taken over Providence. Caesar is the only one left. Holiday, Six, White Knight and Bobo are missing. Six months... Six whole months lost and the world has been turned upside down. And now Six is dead by Rex's own hand. Holiday dead by Six's.]
[Their whole family has destroyed itself.]
[Suddenly, Rex's eyes flare blue, glowing as neon circuit board patterns crawl rapidly over his entire body. Metal scales begin to creep along his skin, climbing his neck and wrapping his lower jaw. Metal tendrils emerge from his back and lash out, driving into the asphalt around him. The body of Six slides back to the ground beside Rex as the teenager reels, hands on the sides of his head as his teeth grit in agony. Blue surges of electricity arch over him as the screaming begins anew.]
((OOC: The situation has caused Rex to go into reboot mode. Someone might want to stop him before that process completes... IE, CALM HIM THE HELL DOWN BEFORE HE GOES FULL EVO. Action and threadjacking A-OK! Also there will be a corresponding log that goes with this post.))
