As to what you're supposed to do? As odd as it sounds, I'll argue. I am of the opinion that there is no legitimate 'supposed to,' or 'should be,' even if the roles we recognize appear to legitimize such and similar phrases. Instead, we've what we will do and are doing, having decided to. Your initiative is an example, and an admirable one at that.
