[It is night. The cityscape is brightly lit, contrasting sharply between darkness and light. Forget the fact that it's a good shot of Xemnas at an impossibly high angle with additional cinematic highlights. The overall tone is set as he looks past the camera, his thoughts unheard.

And lo! He speaks.]

You make it sound like remembering's a bad thing.

Certain cases tend to lean in that direction. There are those who even force themselves to forget the worst of these. Is that not common practice?

I don't know. I don't think I've ever met anyone that wanted to forget...I know I wouldn't want to, anyway.

Perhaps it can be considered fortunate.

[The device shakes slightly as he grits his teeth, and a split second later, the view of the sky suddenly flashes across the screen before a loud crack is heard. The screen shakes violently before it blacks out. Looks like Riku smashed his device.]

[Axel sees this and immediately glares. He guesses it'd be too much to 'hope' that Xemnas would've gone back to Sleep. Couldn't get that lucky, could he?

I'm moving forward, but I'm not ready to forget anytime soon, either.

Old ones, new ones, ones from my other self's. All of 'em. It's not clinging so much as reminding yourself what's important.

Your choices affect your thoughts and opinions...but perhaps that is for the best.

It's true that you don't have to remember everything. I couldn't tell you what I had for breakfast yesterday, or anything like that.

I do agree that it's best to move forward. But I also believe that there are some things worth striving to remember.

The more trivial the memory, the less important it is. They happen spontaneously. This is your opinion, but surely you have had...traumatic experiences.

I do, but not remembering feels like an insult to those who had died. The least I can do is remember the sacrifices they made.

...How valiant of you.

[The tone used for this statement lacks in that dry sarcasm he sometimes leaned toward. Instead, it was uncharacteristically...normal. However, the recovery from this is flawless.]

You were, in fact, referring to those who you were close to, once upon another time?
