1. Leave Me A Comment saying "Interview Me!"
2. I will respond by asking you 5 questions. I get to pick the questions.
3. You will post the questions (and the questions themselves) on your blog/journal
4. You will include this explanation and offer to interview someone else in the same post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed you will ask them five questions. And thus the endless cycle of meme's goes on and on and on...
Questions asked by my wife, the ever-so-lovely siriusfanatic:
1.What was your first Masters of the Universe story?
"The Final Adventure." I started working on it right after my Freshman year of high school, but only got about a paragraph done before it was abandoned. A couple of years later, after reading your "Brotherhood" fanfic, I tried it again from scratch. I made it to about two pages and again, abandoned it. Finally, when the cartoon came back on 2002, I felt so inspired that I went after it again and finished it.
2. Name a celebrity crush (P.S. it can be an old movie star or a new one.)
I have a feeling your want me to talk about
Jean Arthur, but I think we'll go with Kirsten Dunst. The reason being, because my Dunst-love is far older. I was crushin' on her back in 1995, with Jumanji. I was always won over by the fact that she's just a few months older than me and was just cute and pretty on screen. There was Small Soliders and Fifteen and Pregnant after that and those were just fuel for the fire. And, of course, she was in the Spider-Man movies and it turns out she looks fantastic as a redhead (particularly in the first one). These days, I'm not as gaga over her as I used to be.
3. Do you have a favorite author? Why is he/she your favorite?
It's almost impossible for me to pick out a favorite. I like Stephen King -- but to be honest, it seems that outside of his tentpole books and The Dark Tower, a lot of his books are just kinda more of the same. Strange/scary shit happens, chaos ensues. His short stories are his strength, these days.
I'm also a fan of Michael Chabon, despite his writing style getting out of control sometimes. Of course, I'm a big fan of Tolkien, even if his stuff is insanely dense at times.
4. When did you decide that you wanted to become a writer?
Seventh grade, I think. Up until that point, I wanted to be a scientist, but I discovered that even if became a scientist, I wouldn't be one like Doc Brown from Back to the Future. But not long after writing a killer X-Men fanfic and some other shit, I decided I wanted to be a writer. My English teacher was really happy for me and encouraged me; my friends laughed at me and one even said "Kevin, writers get fat."
5. What was the first fanfic you ever read?
I really can't remember! The first one I can recall is an X-Men fanfic involving Jubilee getting captured by this 90s villain Bastian. He tortured her and she managed to escape. I remember thinking that I hoped Wolverine would rip into him.
