OM'S DA BOMB!!!! (or, why my sister rocks)
Ok, I could spend my life expounding on the greatness of my sister (exterra), but here are a few things that have come to mind lately:
1. She makes me laugh uproariously. I mean cackle, guffaw, more than occasionally snort, tear up, and get side aches. Those who know me know that I love to laugh and do so pretty often...but it's a select clan of chosen family who can make me laugh like that. And my sister is first & best at it.
2. She's generous, thoughtful (both considerate & deliberative), compassionate, and she embraces her emotions. Even the prickly ones. I have learned a lot about all these things from her.
3. She understands that shouting & interrupting can be legitimate & constructive forms of communication. Although this no doubt drives J nuts, and anyone who happens to be in a store where we're shopping (we constantly yell across the aisles, and make each other laugh (eg, "here's Good Friends, the cereal that proves white people & colored people can be friends!" or "d'you want more flax & farts?").
4. She uses British spellings when it suits her.
5. She loves me unconditionally. Yeah, that's actually number one, disguised as number five.
6. She does nice things for me (Mouse's chocolates! hand-written letters! calls to say she loves me! tells me mou-mous! brings me scones!), and appreciates it when I do nice things for her.
7. She always maintains the impression that brrbrr is losing weight. A model, really, for those of us trying to believe that the world is becoming a more democratic place: hope springs eternal.
8. She is Queen of Amberryca! (hmm, is that how you spell it?)
