really makes you think

Tonight I went shopping in Vienna with my mom, sister, and brother-in-law. Not your typical shopping though - as we did it at J.W. Reynolds momument company, "the company you've heard about all your life." It seemed to go really well though.
Afterward we went out to eat at this local country-style place called Dolly's. Funny how this place is about 10 miles from where I grew up and lived for 19 years and I had never been there. I had roast beef - which is still better at cracker barrel if you're curious. The food was not the main event of the night though, despite am impressive showing from the oreo pie. Mmmmm. Oreo. No, the waitress was the real show. She was a knockout blonde (since Traci came along my tastes have really changed) who looked fresh out of college, and had just enough of an accent to be cute without being obnoxious. She was very friendly, and my sister's husband seemed to enjoy his free onion rings. Then my sister and her husband got to asking about the nightlife in the area (they're thinking of moving to the family farm in Simpson) and at the bewilderment of the waitress it became readily apparent that she was not actually fresh out of college, but perhaps fresh out of high school. Upon further query, we learned this bombshell had actually only been driving a few months. I was appauled. People my age have to look out for stuff like this. I'm a little over 19 now, and have seen the difference between high school and college girls. But when you have an exception like this it can be a sticky situation. For example, parties at FIJI where somehow townies that have learned to drop the name Hoosen get in without showing ID, and end up getting raped by some Beta later that night. It's an honest mistake college guys can make - not me because I'm happily engaged to be engaged - and people don't even realize it.

At any rate, I'll get off that wild tangent. Long story short I was fooled on this girl's age by about four or five years, and felt like a doofus. In other news, T - 3 days until Traci and T - 4 until Wrigley. Hard to say which is more exciting. Probably Wrigley...
