Yesterday was a full and busy day, starting bright and early for me at 7. I'm not the kind of guy that has a problem with getting up early. Its just that I haven't had to do it since high school. AND I went to the midnight showing of Pirates. But it was fine.
I had orientation for the Auto Auction. I thought it was at 9 instead of 9:30, but thankfully my grandma's house is nearby, so I sunned myself in the back yard for a half hour. The orientation was fine. I'm already manuvering to move to full time. Part time just won't cut it. Not without a second job. I'm always amused my humans though. There were 11 of us in this room around a tabl, and no one spoke. No one made eye contact. Everyone made little nervous gestures except for me. I was the only one not slouching in my chair. And fidgeting with my hair is a vanity issue, not a nervous one. :-p I hate signing sexual harassment forms because I hate lying. But I suppose I never have malicious intent behind my inappropriate personality.
The orientation felt like it took forever, and my ID picture looks like I have a toupee. We'll see. I start Tuesday.
Came home briefly to find our entire kitchen dismantled. The pipes are rotted underneath us, which has been what is causing the back ups and the flooding. The couldn't get to it from the huge hole they cut in the hallway outside, so they ripped out our counters and sink, and our kitchen is a gaping hole. They had a jackhammer going in here. I find it a little funny that we've been living with a team of technicians here all day. Aside from the noise, the only sad part is the concrete dust and the sludge smell. They gave us keys to the model apartment if we need a kitchen, which I thought was kind of them. Its actually the first really nice gesture ever from them. Too little, too late. I have an overwhelming urge to go have sex on all the model furniture.
Went out to lunch with Katherine and Eric. Had sushi and it was delish. Afterwards, we attempted to find a Shell station. Then we went to the Trenton street fair for a little while. I aappreciated the way Katherine dealt with it. She strolled on through and didn't stop at anything that didn't catch her eye. We didn't get anything but it was good to get out.
After that, I spent some time with John and Katherine at their parents' house. I don't feel like I spend enough time with either of them. <3
John was wonderful and acquired me a copy of the rpg book I needed.
I came home and wrote up a bio for the character I'll be playing in my friend Pete's Star Wars RPG game. I'm a little excited, to tell the truth. Pete and his wife, Christina, were my best friends in Florida, and I am thrilled to be speaking with them frequently again. We're using OpenRPG to play online, and he showed me how to use the program pretty easily. We're playing with my friend Johnny from Florida, and a couple guys Pete knows in Las Vegas.
So I e-mailed him, e-mailed Robert, and set out again.
James M and I decided to go to the Perk, not realizing that the fireworks were going on in Taylor. Traffic was ungodly. We got cut off by people with fish on their trucks. I had a nice snack and drink, which James was kind enough to pay for. Then we walked around a little bit and got scared by the rednecks. And we watched some lady pee in someone's driveway. Yee haw.
When I got home, I was pretty tired. But my friend Brian IMed me and we chatted a bit. He decided he wanted to come over and cuddle and talk, so he did. I haven't seen him in a couple months. Seems to be my trend with people. We talked for a while, and watched Comedy Central. We tried bringing Jeff into the conversation a couple times, but he was enthralled in his text based life. Kharlie wasn't even on. I think also he just assumed we were making out. He generally does when I have a guy friend over. Gay, straight, or otherwise. I found out Brian actually works for the same company I do, just farther up the road. He crashed with me and left just a little while ago. He's really a cool guy, I'm glad we're still friends. It would have been really easy for us to never see each other again after high school.
Ok, I'm going to go update my myspace profile. *emo hair*
