Just cause this sticks in my craw
Saturday my parents realized that I wasn't joking when I told them I was moving out. They had a talk with me and my mom mainly tried to talk me into just staying longer til I can make $ to rent a place. That hasn't happened in over 6 yrs however, so I just have to do something different. My dad on the other hand proceeded to say everything that just confirmed my need to leave. 1st he said to me that the argument we had shouldn't have been an argument. I should have just seen his side and agreed with him and there wouldn't have been an issue. The he said I was moving out just to spite him. He proceeded to explain to me thats its complicated living on my own, as if I hadn't done it before, for 8 yrs! He finished with saying that it upsets him that I am leaving. And then it went like this:
Dad: "It upsets me that you are leaving"
Me: "everything I ever do upsets you."
Dad: "EVERYTHING upsets me."
Me: "Then maybe it just affects me more"
Both my parents looked at me speechless and the conversation just ended.
