On wasting company time (part deux)

Nov 10, 2004 16:37

I'm assuming my boss has left for the day because I haven't seen her since 3:50ish when she told handed me things, told me to do them, and then poofed off. Unless she's having one hell of a time in the bathroom, she's gone which leaves me to do many things that screws with company time. Haha!

I've decided to try out Maple Story, nearly 398257351 days after everyone else has. I'm sure I could find some people to play with though. I'm a sucker for games that are both a) cute and b) free. Regardless of whether or not I get anywhere (FFXI debacle anyone?), remains to be seen.

In other incoherent news, I've been so deliriously happy this week. It probably has something to do with getting my hair cut on Sunday. Maybe all that moppish hair caused my brain to cave in on itself and thus makes me generally not happy. Not sad either, but distinctly not happy. I really feel like I've hit some sort of pleasure center and it just keeps giving me wave after wave of giddiness.

By the way, La Barberia sucks ass compared to Fast Eddy's Chop Shop. Despite the ghetto name, and the slightly sketchy method of getting in, Fast Eddy's is quite nice. Bright colors, little games to play while you wait, and a nice guy to cut your hair on a Sunday. I enjoyed it thorougly, and now have a wonderful haircut (in my opinion) and feel so very light hearted and fancy-free.

This was followed by romping in leaves at the South Side tennis courts, which I highly recommend to all people at Case. Indulge in your six year old activities that made you happy. Assuming of course they didn't endanger people. Bullies shouldn't bully people because that'd be plain mean.

Monday was when my true happiness just sprung completely out of nowhere. I was bouncing up and down during breakfast and lunch too, played Munchkin Bites (very cute) with friends, and just overall goodness with Thetachi peoples. I'm really liking this whole talking with older brothers thing. I didn't do it before because, y'know, I'm constantly petrified of talking with people who are a couple of years older than me, but after watching a bad movie with Kaiser and occasionally listening (sometimes even contributing) to a conversation with Olk, I realize that they aren't that dominating.

Woohoo! The Maple Story on the work computer has just finished downloading!

Where was I? Tuesday...that was work. Easy money. =) Another 27 dollars earned, and then racquetball with Mikkel, which is fun. Classes, I kinda slept through, and orchestra was another one of those days where you really just don't care too much for it. However, the culmination of my night ended at Wish. Friesen was DJing, or about to more accurately, until a wrench got thrown in the plans. Normally, on a Tuesday night, no one is there. That night, there were a shitload of middle aged people, or as Geoff called it, the Key Bank convention. There was this one 50-something year old, completely plastered. He was doing his thing on the floor and having fun. More power to him.

But every so often, he would stomp. It's like one of those Greek dancers where they extend their arms and bend their legs and on every two measures on the down beat they would stomp and slow down and then restart. Apparently, the guy stomped so hard that the DJ needle would end up skipping and thus Friesen could not continue his set. It got to like...5 minutes of it and then it ended. Wish execs told him that he couldn't DJ tonight, and they ended up playing XM Radio of the 80's station.

While it was sad that I couldn't really get my dance on, I did manage to get two drinks out of it. I'm not sure who I owe what, but they made me happy, and the old man made me happy. Overall, a still fun night.

And today, classes were a breeze, Chinese quiz went remarkably well, and now I'm off to try Maple Story. Woo!
